How do you like the topic title? Anyway...
Bashiok Wrote:First, touching on the corpse fade timers as they stand, the tech to have them last longer has been in for a while. Pretty much how it's working is that there's an allowed number of physics "actors" that are allowed to remain at a time. These actors could be corpses, but they can also be pieces of destroyed tables, or railings, etc. anything that relies on physics. These are corpses and destructables generally. As you 'create' physics actors the oldest ones disappear. So as you're fighting there are always a number of actors remaining in the world, and it works out pretty well. Obviously how many of them can remain at one time will come down to final performance tweaking, but right now I believe it's around twenty. Sounding pretty good, don't you think? Thoughts? |

RE: Fading Corpses & Blood Stains
The fade its necessary in any game...
Because of the limit of physical resources (RAM mostly) you must reduce the space taken by these objects, so the game will run smoothly, Ok so... my question is that if in the video options isn't there something to increase or decrease the number of actors before the fade will take place ? The blood decals ... its quite new to diablo 2 right ? I didn't seen much blood in diablo 2 I hope in d3 it will be allot blood >:) overall its a improvement ^_^ ! silver, check my latest drawing http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x153/...potter.jpg I'm to sexy -_- |

RE: Fading Corpses & Blood Stains
The Fading of Corpses like silver has said is a necessary part of the game to avoid strain on the system, it wouldnt be fun for the system to have "actors" still on the ground back at the start of the dungeon and you being all the way at the end still fighting... Not happy times for the system....
As for Blood etc, IMO they should have a Gore level to enable or disable the Blood effects, only so that people with low spec machines can run the game without massive amounts of lagg everytime they kill something. But otherwise it will be a great addition to see lots and LOTS of Blood in D3. mattyman174, proud to be a member of Daily Diablo since Oct 2008.
