When did you start playing Diablo?

Have you only just picked it up since the news of Diablo 3 came out, or are you a long term Diablo fan?
I started playing it, i think, back in 1998 after the original Diablo came out. It was buggy as hell but I loved it; hellfire wasn't much better. The diablo series officially became a firm favourite for me after Diablo 2

I was just turned on to Diablo by a friend.
I went out a few weeks ago and bought a box that has the first two games. So I'm a complete newbie. I'm looking forward to seeing what it's all about.

I presume you mean that you got the Diablo and Diablo 2 + expansions?
I'd advise starting straight with Diablo 2 : Lord Of Destruction if you have it, then look at playing the older games, or you might find you're put off a little. The originals are nowhere near as good but you will enjoy them more once you start appreciate the series as a whole.

Hmm its difficult to put my finger on the exact date as to when I started playing Diablo II but I am pretty sure it was around mid to late 2002 after being introduced to it by a friend of a friend. I found it to be great immediately and soon bought my own copy along with the first Diablo also.

i dont remeber the date , i remeber how ... my friends were really big on diablo 2 and always insisted on me trying it and after i tried i was hooked .. i started pretty late wih lod

I don't know when it was exactly - but I played the first one with my brother. It ended up in the house somehow - I still don't know how - and we played it obsessively! Diablo II is better by far though.

I cant remember exactly when i first played D1, but i do remember my Dad used to play it, so i had a look at what all the fuss was about and instantly got hooked.

Best game i have ever played to date, scary as all hell (literally heheh), gave me nightmares, but that was all in the fun of it.

After D2 came out thats when i really got hooked, would stay up on school nights till 1 in the morning just to get to the next town, loved it and still do.

I don't remember the exact date either, but I picked it up somewhere between 1999 and 2001. No matter what else I played, I always had a Fury Druid. I still love the class today, despite allowing my account to expire in 2006. At one point I had the #1 Zealot on USEast in the palapk pvp ladder. I loved melee dueling and pvp action. I moved onto WoW when the D2 community devolved into primarily 14 year olds and gold farmers from Asia.

I missed the game a lot so I found a modded version called Eastern Sun. Despite the lack of a big server or multiplayer community, you could play via direct connect, and the single player format was extensively deeper than regular LoD. I still play it today
